And yet instead of finding a new way of connecting with each other, Angela and Rose discover surprising family secrets that add to their strife and threaten Rose’s romance with a new beau.
Through it all, the two sisters must find the faith necessary to face their personal problems and allow God to restore hope and healing to their hearts and relationship as only He can.
Kate Lloyd is a novelist, a mother of two sons, and a passionate observer of human relationships. A native of Baltimore, Kate spends time with family and friends in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the inspiration for The Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy. She is a member of the Lancaster County Mennonite Historical Society. Kate and her husband live in the Pacific Northwest, the setting for Kate’s first novel, A Portrait of Marguerite. Kate studied painting, photography, and Italian in college. She has worked a variety of jobs, including car salesman and restauranteur.

A story about sisters, second chances and hope. Kate Lloyd created a memorable story in A Letter from Lancaster County, that will resound with readers who believe in second chances.
Angela and Rose are on two different tracks. This makes sense they are sisters not the same person, but they both feel unfulfilled in their respective lives. Rose made me feel like she was a free spirit but looking to find her breeze to settle in life. Angela was a lot more like me as a mother, and feeling at moments that she hasn’t met her glory. Click To TweetGoing back to the area brings ups feelings and emotions that pull the reader in. I was breathless with excitment on seeing Rose bloom into a new character, and finding love. She needed some love. Both ladies face pieces of their family that were unknown and hidden, making them have questions that needed answers. Both women learn to embrace God, and hear his message, through time they grow to be women of strong faith.
The author did a great job of dialect in this book, the conversations were amazing and led the reader to feel like a fly on the wall hearing these first hand. I was swept into this wonderful county and could smell the fresh breeze, bread and feel the love that was all around. It was a moving start to what I anticipate to be a great series.
