Book Summary

In the small town of Abbott Creek, mysteries are as much a part of daily life as Katie Chupp’s Christmas cookies.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With a winter chill settling in and Christmas right around the corner, no one would expect a mystery, but a mystery does indeed appear…

Katie Chupp is spending her days catering to the holiday rush, but she soon finds herself in the midst of a secret project that attracts more attention than she wants.

And when one local family finds a very unexpected surprise at their door, this is one mystery that may never be solved… even by Katie.

Book Review by Bree Herron

Christmas time is here! And it is always my favorite time of the season in reading! To read a themed Christmas book takes great care, I am always looking for the spirit of Christmas in the story, and to feel my heart grow with love. This book meets that and more in fact it is a reason to celebrate! Naomi Miller found a way to give the reader a gentle reminder of what the season really means. Love, Kindness and Faith.

When you want a heart warming tale that makes you want to go out and give, this is the book for you. Kate and Travis are back, and this season is going to be as heartwarming as it can be. 12 beautifully written chapters, containing tasty recipes for each, will make you a hungry reader! I can’t wait to try them out for my holiday season. Kate is still working in the sweet shop and as a reader I feel like she is hearing God’s calling with her baking. She is simply a marvelous character, giving the readers the warm feelings that all should feel during this season.

The Amish Sweet Shop Mysteries are never ending in a manner that makes the reader sad, if anything they give hope. And in this modern time, I hope that a book like this will be spread through out communities, and remind us all of the way we can handle scenarios. We should handle more with love, than hate. Compassion instead of anger. I am leaving the final page of this book a more hopeful and happy person, because of the sweet characters, their relationship with God, and their love. They truly reminded me of the reason for the season!
