Caught in a killer’s sights…
Introducing the True Blue K-9 Unit series
After K-9 unit administrative assistant Sophie Walters spots a suspicious stranger lurking at the K-9 graduation, the man kidnaps her—and she barely escapes. With Sophie’s boss missing and someone determined to silence her, NYPD officer Luke Hathaway vows he and his K-9 partner will guard her. But he must keep an emotional distance to ensure this mission ends in justice…not cold-blooded murder.
Lynette Eason lives in Simpsonville, SC with her husband and two children. She is an award-winning, best-selling author who spends her days writing when she's not traveling around the country teaching at writing conferences. Book Review by Bree Herron
I am always ready to read a Lynette Eason book. The Love Inspired series are some of the best quick reads a reader can get their hands on. Justice Mission was well done, goosebump good, and I was enthralled from the very first page.
Characters
Wow, wow these characters were something else. Sophie was so strong-minded and determined to be a part of the team to find their captain that I was rooting for her to kick some bad guy butt from the start. That is one aspect about this author that is always solid, her female characters are some of the best ever written and easy to cheer for. Luke was such a great guy, can he please come to be my partner in solving the crime? I was swept up in all the characters in only LIS fashion.
Synoptic
Another great LIS k-9 unit story with excellent plotting and stellar characters. Truly, beyond my usual cozy mysteries, the books written by Eason are some of my favorite and this was by far a top quick read for me this year. I found it engaging with the idea of cops, kidnappers, dogs, and of course the kick-butt characters. I love the sprinkles of faith that we get through the story that doesn’t take away but supplement the storyline.
