The Elusive Miss Ellison

It’s FRIDAY which means I get to share a great line once a week with your from a book I am reading. I found this to be an exciting and entertaining way to find new authors, books and bloggers. So I am opening up the book I have been reading this week, and going to the first chapter and finding the first line…

Hmm. Whatever IS she doing? Hopefully it’s something delightfully shocking. 😉

Regency! Thanks to Jane Austen, I have a soft spot in my heart for that era. 😉

    Love Regency romances!

My first line is from Karen Sargent’s upcoming release, Waiting For Butterflies:

‘Maggie heard the key in the front door and looked at the clock on the nightstand: 1:48 a.m. Nearly twenty-four hours had passed since the phone had jarred her awake and Sam out of bed.”

I have read The Elusive Miss Ellison and I loved it. My first line is “An angel of light stood before me, blonde, beautiful, one hand behind his back.” From Widow by Denise Weimer.

“The Registry: A cultural tradition or a human rights issue? – Global Reporter”

This is the 2nd book in the “Registry” series by Shannon Stoker. It is set in a dystopian society where in America girls are sold as brides at auction because some atrocity happened whereby there are fewer women.
