Book Summary

In the biggest case of her career, attorney Kate Sullivan is tapped as lead counsel to take on Mason Pharmaceutical because of a corporate cover-up related to its newest drug. After a whistleblower dies, Kate knows the stakes are much higher than her other lawsuits.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James is still haunted by mistakes made while serving overseas. Trying to forget the past, he is hired by Kate to look into the whistleblower’s allegation and soon suspects that the company may be engaging in a dangerous game for profit. He also soon finds himself falling for this passionate and earnest young lawyer.

Determined not to make the same mistakes, he’s intent on keeping Kate safe, but as the case deepens, it appears someone is willing to risk everything–even murder–to keep the case from going to trial.

Book Review by Bree Herron

This is a faith filled thriller that will leave a reader feeling as though they were in the court room battling the case. It was intense (in the best way possible) and the author did a wonderful job of building a modern day thriller around a subject that we could see happen in a court room.

Characters

Kate Sullivan and Landon James, now that’s a pair. They were encouraging to read and both had strengths that complimented each other. And like Landon points out they are a great team, building and working this case together, the bond and love becomes undeniable to the reader. However, this does not take away from Kate’s ability in the courtroom or the suspense of the book.

Cover

I write this while staring at this cover. It is one that speaks volumes to what a suspense cover should have. A simple look of darkness with our lovely Kate on the cover looking over her shoulder in motion, it begs to be read. You will find yourself asking what is in between the covers of this book?

Enjoyable Moments

I know the author has a law background and I really enjoyed how her experience really created the image of the story for me. I could see the work in the office, the courtrooms and of course the case being built. Landon was one amazing man with some great connections, I wouldn’t mind meeting him over dinner (wink, wink). He was very enjoyable as a male character and didn’t overpower our brilliant Kate.

Synoptic

Overall, get your cozy fall feeling on and read this book. There is at least a dozen and one reasons to begin this story but biggest reason is it is way better than any crime show on TV. It comes to life on the pages and it is made to make a reader want to see more justice in this Atlanta law. Deadly Proof won’t only keep you wanting more, it will make you search for the answers with and be there in the cross airs, it is a book that could define Christian suspense.
