First Line Friday

Hollywood Homicide

It’s FRIDAY which means I get to share a great line once a week with your from a book I am reading. I found this to be an exciting and entertaining way to find new authors, books and bloggers. So I am opening up the book I have been reading this week, and going to the first chapter and finding the first line…

This Weeks First Line Friday Brought to You By

Hollywood Homicide

A Detective by Day Mystery

by Kellye Garrett

This week's line is:

“He stared at my resume like it was an SAT question. One of the hard ones where you just bubbled in C and kept it moving.”

This week I took some time to do LOTS of reading and some fixes for the next few weeks posts. This has been one of the funniest cozy mysteries I have read this past month and I hope it makes you laugh a bit!

Now it's Your Turn

Open the book nearest you and post the first line of the first chapter in the comments below, I would love to see into the book you are reading.

“You, sir, are a rogue!” Emily Payne scowled into the black marble gaze fixed on hers, determined to win the deadlock of stares. Horrid Beast.
I’m listening (Again) to Brentwood’s Ward by Michelle Griep. If any of you have read it, you know who she’s talking to!

    Have a great weekend Bree!

Sounds like a book I’ll have to check out!

I’ve got the first line from “Chasing Secrets” by Lynette Eason on the blog today, but I’ve just finished reading “A Rose So Fair” by Myra Johnson, so I’m going to share the first line from that here:

“Now just you hold it right there, mister.” Rose Linwood sighted her unwelcome visitor down the length of Grandpa’s trusty Winchester.

    She’s a spunky one!

I’m featuring “Healing Love” by Jennifer Slattery on my blog today, but I’m currently reading “A Name Unknown” by Roseanna M. White.

Rosemary Gresham may have been a thief, but she was a thief who preferred to work in broad daylight.

    Happy Friday! 🙂

Happy Friday! My first line is from An Alaskan Christmas by Belle Calhoune: “Finn O’Rourke paced back and forth in terminal 27A of the Anchorage airport.”

This weekend I’m reading Kim Vogel Sawyer’s “Bringing Maggie Home.” I’m a little over halfway and it’s such a GREAT read! Here’s the first line:
    Mid-July 1943
“Hazel set a porcelain cup and saucer on the overturned apple crate in front of her little sister. ‘Madam, would you like cream and sugar in your tea?'”
