Book Summary

Perfectly pressed. Perfectly proper. Perfectly deadly.

Paranormal museum owner Maddie Kosloski thinks she has the perfect paranormal exhibit for the harvest festival―a haunted grape press. But before she can open the exhibit, she’s accused of stealing the antique press. And when her accuser is found murdered, all eyes turn to Maddie.

Solving the crime is the last thing on Maddie’s mind, but her mother insists she investigate. Does her mother have a secret agenda? And why has the local charity, Ladies Aid, seemingly gone gangster?

In this light, cozy mystery, haunted houses, runaway wine barrels, and murder combine in a perfect storm of chaos. Facing down danger and her own over-active imagination, Maddie must unearth the killer before she becomes the next ghost to haunt her museum.

Book Review by Bree Herron

The moment I read that this was a paranormal cozy, I knew I had to read it. I am quite picky about my ghosts and from the sounds of this book and the past books in the series, I knew this book would be a perfect fit for me. So anyone want some spooks with their wine?

I loved the premise for this book. And it lived up to my expectations and more. I really enjoyed the winery rivalry, along with a hunted wine press made me want to seek out a great wine and some cheese to have while reading this book. Maddie is such a charming and believable character that I was an instant friend with her in my mind.

I really enjoyed the historical and spooky aspect to this book. Each item though briefly mentioned at times from the museum were thought of fondly by Maddie, and she loved the background story to each. I am awaiting the next great find for Maddie, and to see what will be haunting her next.

I’m looking forward to reading “Pressed to Death”. I like that it’s a paranormal mystery set in wine country.
